Everywhere Else / Re: The Hammer Strikes ('Resurgence' of Robotnik)

The medical Mobian's move would turn out to be a success, with 4 of the originally 7 bots getting demolished. The remaining 3 would, unsurprisingly, just keep the shielded group under fire. The 'little' encounter was, actually, attracting even more attention from the robots nearby who joined in on the assault. By all means, they were just attempting to brute-force the barrier through sheer firepower at this point, while a smaller group switched their attention to the shielded Mobian, beginning to open nonlethal fire upon him without anything that could be considered tactical prowess.

Back in the main ship, Robotnik was observing the current situation through a rather massive screen which was relaying a visual feed through the eyes of one of his robots currently confronting the group of what he perceived to be animals. Animals with some sort of innate powers and enough intellect to wear things, it appeared. He was silently observing the happenings until he, at first, heard an alarm go off after the healing pod was broken, then was confronted with the interesting critter that he had previously ordered to be rejuvenated. He either failed to perceive the blue blur's preparation of an attack before he changed his mind, or he straight-up just had all the confidence in the world about his armor's protectivity. Either way, as soon as he saw him back down he began yelling "Ah, shut it off, shut the alarm off!" and, whether he had a radio built into his armor or by the sheer volume of his voice ringing out through the lifeless halls, his demand was fulfilled.

"You are... Sentient-" the Overlander began and was promptly interrupted about as soon as he tried to continue. He kept his composure surprisingly well as the Mobian spoke his part, almost responding before the hedgehog began talking again about the current situation. After the proposal, the massive man ran through his train of thoughts for a moment before just smiling. "Well, this explains a few things. You arrre... More than welcome. As for these... I am surrrprised they are not with you." he made a non-threatening motion towards Sonic as he finished his sentence before he turned back towards the screen, incidentally in time as it went to static shortly before switching to the viewpoint of another unit in the field. "Please, be my guest, these fellows are so unexpectedly aggressive. I haven't been this rrrudely greeted upon arrival since... Neverrr you mind- But we do indeed need to have a detailed talk later, therrre is so much I am veeeeeery lost about." he paused for a moment. "Guards, get me a rifle. I will be joining the scene myself shorrrtly, hopefully anyone with a capability to speak will be left by the time you're done."  he finished with a short chuckle before his face was encased in his segmented, retractable helmet. "Open the main door!" he ordered sharply as one of his guards approached him with what was clearly some form of an oversized, red assault rifle, likely laser-based like most of the Overlander's equipment. "I'll inform the fielded units to not get in your way, safe trrravels!" he barked at the hedgehog. Judging by his talk through the helmet so far, it seemed to make his voice sound louder and even more artificial than usual, it likely had some sort of internal and external transmitter to ensure his speech wouldn't come out muffled.

The black hedgehog's little stunt would prove to have been a bad idea, seeing as so far the patrolling bots' search was proving fruitless. The robot did not even know what hit it but by the time between its demise and the group finishing their chitchat, just about every bot and scanner in the area was raising an alarming amount of transmissions in their monotone, dead voices.

"B-Series Unit 02-95 is not responding, search the last known whereabouts."

"All units, caution mode. Sweep for hostiles. Nonlethal unless ordered otherwise."

"Contact Lord Robotnik as soon as you find something."

The remnants of the wrecked heap that was once a robot were found surprisingly quick by a handful of the humanoid bots. Soon, in the already bustling activity of the mechanical creations, a few moments after one of the units relayed its report a new voice joined their radio transmissions, muffled, and... Hauntingly familiar to more than one of the hiding Mobians.

"Am I being made fun of!? Am I being prrranked!? Am I being attacked by natives? I want to know what's going on, unit! Brrrring me the destroyed one's blackbox, find and bring me those aggressors that did this! This is unacceptable! I'll have someone's ass for dinner! Find them, find them, fiiiiiiiiind theeeeeeeeeem!"

The screaming orders cut out afterward, in fact, the sheer boom of his voice over the radio seemed to have glitched up, the last "find them" coming off as less of a prolonged yell and more like a paulstreched sound-byte. With the increase in activity and... Proper inspiration to search every spot, it was unsurprising that the group was discovered by a squad of 7 relatively quickly in a most... Awkward fashion. The leading bot spotted the slightest oddity in colors within the foliage of a certain tree, halted his units, seemingly began scanning- Before all 7 pointed their wrist-weapons at the suspected spot. "You are intruding on Robotnik property, do not resist." they informed before just straight-up beginning to pelt the entire treetop with stun-rays.

Back inside the temporary headquarters' laboratory, the round man himself collected the ever-increasing physical paper reports being printed out of the large computer, still breathing heavily from his previous outburst. "...Fascinating. This is no merrre animal. At the very least, one good thing happened today... Male... Rrrelative of the Hedgehog species...? Physically appears to have been thrrrough a lot. I need to have a better look at this later- Guard, take this to my personal archive!" he handed out the, by now, large stack of inter-connected papers to the red guard-bot. "Physical! Naturally... Don't mix my holo-pads and papers up again..." with that, he turned to the other robotic assistant in the room. "And you, disconnect him and put him in a healing pod. And make sure it's worrrking first! Those things haven't seen use in ages... H- Heheh-" he finished with a shaky laugh, turning his red gaze to the hedgehog on the table. "I wonder if you'll make me happy a second time today, frrrrrriend..."

The disturbance certainly left the temporary station of the Overlander's forces in a state of emergency. Alarms started blaring from the remaining stationed ships. The robots nearest to the impact had been sent into temporary shutdown as other troops began rushing to the position in an orderly fashion, clearing out the rubble from the former third ship that was stationed at the spot before surrounding the crater. Not too long after, a swarm of Scanner Bots poured out from the dark interior of the main landed ship through the now-opened entrance, followed suit by the man himself. The massive Overlander stepped out of the shadows, clad in full armor, presumably out of concern from the sudden 'assault' on his property, and immediately began heading towards the site of the impact with thunderous, long steps, the horde of flying machines following behind like some sort of pets.

"What. Happened?" the hulking man demanded with a quickly raising, aggrevated tone from the robots around the hole, not even looking into it yet.

"Unknown lifeform, Lord Robotnik. Approximately 150cm in height, covered in spines or fur, unable to determine much else from current position." the robot closest to Robotnik's left responded.

Finally, the Overlander peered into the crater with his glowing, visor-like eyes. An uncertain, unstable frown sat on his face, mildly switching into a full-on grimace every so often. "...That..." he pointed at this... Creature. "...Is the... Prrrrojectile?" he asked, wheezing a bit at the absurdity of the suggestion. "Scanner units... Sweep-scan surrounding area outside fooo-rrrest!" he took an interrupting gasp as his voice began getting rather shaky near the end. "Foooooorrrrrwaaa-a-a-rrrd." he finished with the, ironically, even shakier whisper of an order as he pointed generally away from the impact, the scanners following him quickly spreading out across the forest, flying beyond.

"As for... That. An... Hmmmnnn, interesting specimen. I want it in my perrrsonal laboratory. Bring a body bag, and... Sssstrrrap it down just in case." he ordered, taking a deep breath through his mouth. "I want detailed readings, hook it up to my rrresearch desk, I will be over shortly..." he finished talking, turning around 180, and marched off back to his command ship.

Luckily for... Certain individuals, there had yet to be any suspicion towards their presence or incoming arrivals, although the robots did not cease their searching patrols throughout the area, now aided by far more limber scanners. The guards at the scene, as instructed, carried the presumed dead blue creature off in a half-closed body bag to the Overlander's ship, while others began clearing out the area of the impact from debris and disabled bots. Soon enough, their unknowing captive was strapped to a table in a surprisingly well-lit, white-plated room with machinery and items that would appear honestly alien to just about anyone unfamiliar with them. Robotnik, as well as two assisting guards eventually entered the room, with the Overlander, of course, outside of his armor.

"You, check for Lifesigns, keep it unconscious if it's alive. You, connect the main spine to its body." Robotnik ordered, then went to sit himself down on the chair in front of the computer which currently said "NO CONNECTION" on the monitor with a green wireframe of a mechanical spine and ribs spinning horizontally. As the robots went to work, confirming Lifesigns and then injecting this creature with an unknown liquid, and finally connecting the metallic, skeletal apparatus to its body, it was strangely apparent that the wrist-mounted device this unknown entity had was removed, likely before it was brought in here...

Everywhere Else / The Hammer Strikes ('Resurgence' of Robotnik)
« on: February 26, 2020, 11:53:47 am »
At roughly 3AM a foreign object of vague triangular shape appeared in the sky, barely spottable, but it was there... Unmoving. At 4AM, three red rectangular ships with yellow highlights descended from it, resembling containers more than any military-tier dropship. They all landed in a rather large clearing of an already sprawling forest. By the time the clock hit 6AM, the forest's denizens had either fled the scene or gone into hiding as squads of red and yellow plated humanoid robots began wide-spread patrols of the entire forest perimeter. Some trees had been completely taken down at the landing site and the ships were repurposed as makeshift "tents" for the "base camp", complete with plain red flags mounted upon their roofs. Inside the center-most ship, at the cockpit, sat the leader of this... Expedition, going over the collected data of the surrounding areas so far.

He had not managed to determine any specific life on this planet. He knew for a fact that it existed, but, everything alive avoided his reach like the plague ever since his arrival, far too quick for any of his scouts to even have a clear image on whatever it is that lived here.

"No matterrr..." came the calm, chilling, half-artificial half-human voice from the individual in the shadows of the dim interior as he "flipped" the "page" of the red, holographic report, going through the facts. "This place is..." he took a pause to let out a shaky, unstable sigh. "...suitable" he finished with a smirk rising to his lips.

There was no way that the unaccounted, unexplained arrival would go unnoticed for long, but, there appeared to be no plan set in place in the off chance that these... Visitors were to be confronted by sentient life...

Character Biographies / Warlord Yurius "Yuri" Robotnik
« on: February 25, 2020, 12:24:33 pm »
Description:
Yurius is, by all means just Doctor Robotnik from a different universe. He's a 200cm tall hunk of technologically advanced junk. Some parts of him still resemble something nature could have spat out, but beneath the skin and fat, he is more machine than man. The only remaining biological parts left of this unholy conjoining of flesh and metal are the brain and a handful of key organs he still requires for mortal pleasures like eating, drinking, smoking, and so on. He is an imposing, walking bulwark covered in thick external and internal plating, which comes complete with a retractable full-face helmet that connects to his re-breather, as well as a weaponized left arm. In addition to his suit and armor, he also wears a long, thick, heavy yellow cape and an equally comparable scarf which, in of itself, can be used as a sort of bizarre lasso or whip-like weapon.

Personality:
Yurius is by no means a tactical genius or a highly inspiring leader, but he is certainly rough, wroth, and intimidating. He is primarily a warrior, second-place an inventor, and although he admires all things on the techy or sciency side, he focuses on creating tools of war and machines. His reasons for escaping to this universe are rather bleak, as his own was left uninhabitable after an eternity of conflict and war and he is now on a mission to find a new home for himself and his remnants. He has not met any Mobians or similar races prior to coming here, due to them simply not existing in his home universe. Despite his demeanor and generally being a very scary man, he can be amicable under certain conditions. He can be commonly seen chomping down cigars and cigarettes of various origins, usually accompanied with alcohol.

Abilities and Powers:
While he has no powers in a traditional sense, Yurius is a tough nut to crack based on his physique alone. His armor AND body have been built to survive extreme temperatures both hot and cold, as well as other kinds of physical damage or hazards. His left arm is loaded with a rocket launcher, a flak cannon (which can fire both actual shells or just shrapnel in a manner similar to pellets) and a laser cannon. All of these have a low ammunition count save for the laser cannon, and as such, they are usually secondary or emergency weapons. To top it all off, he can also just straight up punch with the force of a hydraulic press.

Arsenal [WIP]:

Red Guards: Red-colored SWATbot-like troops who are entirely robotic. Generally used as, well, guards or patrols, they are equipped with wrist-mounted light lasers and stun rays and are rather lightly armored compared to the rest of the army.

Scanner Bots: Gray-colored, flying scanners roughly the size of a fist, shaped like a ball with minor plating and a tiny red eye-like camera. Their main purpose is scouting, but they come armed with stun rays and an internal explosive with roughly the force of a grenade in case a unit requires to be self-destructed. They are the lightest of Robotnik's troops.

Main Battle Droids: The backbone of Robotnik's forces. They very closely resemble Red Guards, with the obvious differences of being black and chromatic in their plating with a red non-chromatic patch on the center of their chest depicting a mockup of the Warlord's face. They appear burlier and taller than their Guard counterparts and are generally better protected at the cost of being heavier and slower. They have the same wrist-mounted weapons as the Guards, with the laser being swapped out for a rocket launcher. However, with the addition of being armed with repeating laser rifles, their wrist-mounted weapons are deemed secondary.

Cybernites: Clad in red armor similar to Yurius' own, these are former humans from his universe, likely death-row prisoners or other unwanted individuals that were demoted to this existence as a punishment. They resemble Robotnik himself in every way but face, shape, and size. They are naturally issued lower-quality equipment and serve as one of his special forces. There is little sign of cognitive existence to them, and, as such, they behave almost like robotic troops with no soul. They apply squad-based tactics in a very programmed way and generally use repeating laser rifles as their primary weapons, with laser pistols as their secondary, and are equipped with thermal and cryo grenades as well as retractable single wrist blades on their respective dominant arms for close combat.

Yuri's Hope: A massive red and yellow colored flagship of triangular shape, likely hurriedly repurposed judging by its poor state. There are several laser-based turrets on it, and a single ion cannon that could be used for long-range attacks. It is also the only space-faring vehicle that Robotnik currently possesses, minus minor transport that are already part of the thing. It is what has brought him here through the inter-universal rift, and that was a one-way trip. It contains a considerable population of cryogenically frozen people and Robotnik is the only free-thinking life on deck most of the time. The interior can be compared to a few cities in terms of size if cities were made up of levels upon levels of hallways and rooms.

Inventions [WIP]:

Cyberizer: Often called "The Meatgrinder" back home, this is a device that extracts the bare necessities in terms of organs from living beings and encases them within mechanical bodies in order to improve them in a fashion much like Yurius himself. It can optionally install chips inside of the extracted brains that ensures obedience and submission. Individuals who receive this treatment are generally unwilling.

Weaknesses:
Yurius is physically slow and lacks finesse, he can be also easily blinded by (usually negative) emotions too much to see the whole picture. Additionally, he quite literally cannot swim completely due to his weight and will always sink. All of his physical weaknesses are only marginally improved when he is out of his armor.
