Caroline looked up at Doubles with her mouth in the shape of an 'o' when he said the word 'aerodynamics' tilting her head a little bit to show confusion, "What's oreodynamics mean?" She'd ask, putting one finger to her bottom lip in thought, she did appreciate that he seemed to agree with her though, and smiled shortly afterwards at that fact.

"Yesterday, they left early in the morning" She explained before she looked a little anxious, he'd gone silent to be respectful and give her time to explain what happened between her and Tails that caused the upset. "Well, he showed me around his workshop because he was finishing up making something shiny and new" She began, "And I got really excited! Because it was really amazing but before he could show me how it worked, my excitement just.. Exploded" She tapped her index fingers together, looking down at her feet as her ears flattened back in a sad way "I ruined all his hard work and singed some of his blue paper drawings" By the end of explaining she found her eyes were welling up with tears a bit, and she made a small hiccup noise to indicate it before raising a small paw to rub her eyes. "I didn't mean to do it though, I don't know how I did! I just got really happy and it got broken" When he spoke up again, she nodded at the apology bit, she had apologized, as she was never short on manners but she nodded again when he asked if she wanted advice on it, "Yes please"

When asked about preference for snacks the kitten patted her paws together while thinking, "Sushi is yummy and fish sticks!" When it came to her sister, Doubles seemed to know the food of choice already, "Chilidogs yeah, but if it's okay, she usually has to have them cut up small so she can fit it! She's very little" She'd explain and while she was very serious about that, it came off as more of attempted seriousness so it was more cute then anything. All in all she cared about her sister though and wanted to make sure it was said.
The young half cat watched Doubles press a few buttons on a panel before lights on the floor lit up and an elevator formed around the trio. The cat made a soft "Oooh" sound but didn't try to touch anything, unsure of what would happen if she did. She wouldn't of had much time to anyway as soon enough, they were at where they wanted to be.

Caroline waddled out the elevator and followed after Doubles, smiling as she did, it was almost like a bit of an adventure to try and find the kitchen, even if Doubles knew exactly where to go from the start. Caroline picked up her pace a little bit out of the excitement that the thought brought, giving an eager giggle before steadily slowing down and dropping her smile. The last time she got excited, she had broken something important to Tails, she didn't want to repeat the same thing to her new friend Doubles, so, she slowed down and instead took a calm pace next to the adult as he lead the way to the kitchen.

Sapphire would give a nervous smile, "Oh, right" She'd rub behind her head before laughing, the thought of the shopping centre becoming more like a living bowling alley amused her just a little bit but she wasn't about to actually make it happen. When Sonya gave them a smile, she'd receive two back from the girls.

The girls nodded and looked at each other for a moment when Sonya said they were headed to the chilidog stand. The perfect gift for their father was always chilidogs. You couldn't go wrong with Sonic and chilidogs. Taking Sonya's hands the two girls followed along at a good pace, Sapphire standing on her tippy toes at times to keep a better hold of the taller Mobian's hand. At least until she was picked up and placed on Sonya's shoulders, "Wheee!" She'd giggle before then nodding to Sonya, "Sloppiest, spiciest, unhealthiest chilidog around, coming up!" She'd then cup her hands and place them around her eyes, using them as binoculars. "Oh! I'd love something, if it's okay, yes please" Sapphire clapped her hands together, she was pretty hungry now, it'd been a bit since Tails gave them breakfast. Much like her dad, Sapphire enjoyed something spicy, but obviously didn't want her taste buds burnt off either.

"I'd love a hot chocolate if it's not too much trouble Aunty Sonya" Caroline answered back while Sapphire kept a look out for the best chilidog in their area. "What're you going to get to eat?"

Robin seemed to notice Guntram's sudden sadness, the penguin might not say much, but it showed still. He was right, they had seen what was in the car after Guntram risked such to give the group a form of transport. The dog took in a breath for a moment before putting a paw on the smaller mobian's shoulder, giving him a gentle shoulder squeeze to comfort him. "I want to thank you for offering up a ride in your vehicle, despite giving away the fact that you had illegal components in there, while I don't exactly like those things, you gave it all up to help us, to help me save my friend" The dog would smile, "That takes guts, you did the right thing, it's never too late to keep doing the right thing" The canine would nod his head to the penguin, hoping that maybe after all this was said and done, Guntram would find a better path for himself to go down, the penguin was someone who Robin genuinely believed was someone who was good and could do good, he just maybe needed some help getting there.

Caroline forced a smile to Ty, the thought of the pain to come making it hard to smile for real. "Oh I'll stay alive, don't worry about that, it just. Might be rather painful for a few seconds is all, you've taken down three already, I felt those." Caroline then nodded, "Please try, and they uh.. They learn what I do in due time too, but you are correct. They learn off each other as well" She then squinted her eyes at the closest orb, "But I learn what they do as well." She seemed glad that so far, they were agreeing to her plan. She nodded to what Soul said, "Preferably before I'm frozen, that might cause it to shatter"

Speaking of shattering, when Sakura began to punch the ground to cause tremors, the frozen Robin-looking orbian began to shake and shudder, before finally shattering into hundreds of pieces, spilling out onto the pavement and road. Caroline would let off a pained yowl, grabbing at her head for a few moments, after which the broken orb parts then reformed like the other one had done, the odd liquid it used to form Robin in the first place spilling out over the ground to surround everyone's feet just like the last time as well. This time however they weren't dragged into a bubble form, the light of the original orb sunk, drowning in the odd liquid it made before letting off a few pulses. This was quickly followed by a blinding light that engulfed the team, giving them all a feeling of being jolted at the heart for a few seconds before the feeling eased.

Like last time, the group seemed to have been transported to a different area, a different time even, but they could not interfere or react with the environment, they could only watch. The two orbs also seemed to have disappeared for now. Instead of being in the middle of the city, the group would find themselves in a rather beautiful setting. They would be in some sort of garden with ponds full of koi fish and beautifully crafted red bridges inbetween small islands of land so you could cross between and truly enjoy all the ponds in all their beauty. In the very center of the garden stood a beautiful cherry blossom tree, and under that tree was a bench that was crafted in a similar way to the bridges. Sitting at the bench was Caroline, her head in her hands as Robin came up and sat beside her. Except the Robin and Caroline the group had just been with were still exactly where they last were. The real Robin seemed to hold his breath as he watched as the memory played out.

The memory Robin would hesitate for a moment before putting an arm around the memory version of Caroline as she seemingly wept harder then she was before. "I don't know what to do Robin.." While she very clearly could've used a shoulder to cry on, the cat still held on and didn't cry on Robin's. The dog still tried to comfort her though, giving one of her shoulders a squeeze while she tried to clear her face. "I can't just do nothing, there has to be something we can do!" There was a bit of silence for a moment, leaving the sounds to reach their ears to be filled instead with light water splashes and the water running from where there was small waterfalls in the garden. "There is something" Robin began, before looking off to the distance, "Something that at least would give us more time to properly save her. But nobody wants to stand up and do it." He seemed agitated, as though he didn't understand why nobody would take the chance for more time if offered it. "You mean the..?" "Yes... Papa already promised he wouldn't, so he's not going to do it and none of the others know how." There was a pause, "It's because she wouldn't want that" Robin sighed, muttering that he knew. Knew or not he still seemed to want to go ahead with this idea if it meant saving his friend. "What happened to those stupid rocks anyway, maybe they hold some sort of solution, since it's their fault in the first place that all this happened." "No... It was my fault.."

Robin seemed to close his eyes and sigh lightly again, clearly disagreeing, "It was out of our control, what matters now is undoing it all. We can't go back and change it. We're both not just going to sit around and let it happen, there's always a way to fix things, let's find that fix." "I think the emeralds are in Miles' workshop. Locked up obviously. I... Don't want to be near them again" "I'll handle buying us more time and the emeralds. Don't worry, for now I think we should pay her a visit" The scene would start to shimmer shortly after the last words rolled out from Robin's mouth, before it fully evaporated and they were in a hospital room beside a bed. Robin again went into deep thought, leaving the two girls to have their moment.
The scene was.. Hard to look at really, a small, blue female hedgehog was in the hospital bed, plugged up to multiple machines through needles and other medical means. She seemed tired, but lively at the same time. Caroline placed both hands around one of the hedgehog's hands, and smiled through tears as she leaned over and pressed her forehead to the hedgehog's. The hedgehog to those around a different area of the city earlier, would look just like the robot from earlier, but organic. "Hey Crimson Cat, what's the outside world like? I'd do anything to go for a run aheh" The hedgehog winced a smile while Caroline forced back tears, wishing she could grant her sister that wish. "It's.. Not the same without you out there really, everyone's just working on a solution, has there been any breakthrough's here at the hospital?" Caroline asked, ignoring the tears rolling down her hopeful face. Sapphire would turn her gaze away, not wanting to bring her big sister any bad news, so she simply didn't answer... "Oh... I see." Caroline hung her head for a moment before gently squeezing her sister's hand. "No matter what, I'll make sure you're up and running again soon, I promise. I promise.." Her voice trailed off and the scene began to ripple before the jolt would spark up again in the team's hearts once more...

By the time the light faded and the team would come back to the present time and area, the liquid had already seeped away and the orb shot itself back into Caroline, fading away into her chest over the area of her heart, which made her wince but she seemed okay afterwards. Both orbs seemed to have been paused up until that point, upon which they resumed.
When approached by Karahl, the cat seemed to stand her ground, taking in a breath she held a strong stance and look, but not one that held any sort of threat. She'd nod to the tiger after she was done saying what she wanted, not wanting to stir any trouble or cause for suspicion for the tiger or for Sonic.

Caroline then looked to Doubles when he wanted to suggest something, giving him a nod to confirm he could of course suggest something. What he said made her unsure though. "But... In all the times before this. That's never been achieved.. I don't know if.." She'd run her claws through her hair for a moment. Letting him continue if he needed, he'd always been someone she could rely on, her past, present and in the future. So maybe she should trust him now in this moment as well for having a better idea then to just freeze her.
He then suggested to not attack the orbs at all making Caroline's eye almost twitch. Was he insane? Had she hit him a little too hard back at that other area? ".. Doubles.. Are you sure about this.." The cat would ask the armoured mobian, looking very unsure of the situation. Her reaction seemed to make the orbian's vibrate with certainty in response.

She then found his hand on her shoulder again, which took her by surprise at first. He was right. And she needed to trust in herself and the others around her if they wanted any hope in saving Sapphire. When his helmet visor retracted, Caroline squinted a little before her eyes widened, "Oh you little.." She'd hiss lightly, sounding a bit amused. It was indeed who she thought he was, but who he had chosen to look like in this point of time humoured her. His wink didn't help either, at least not in making her not find it funny.
Her attention snapped back though when her legs started to become ridiculously cold from Ty's ice, her fur stood on end for a moment, "I- Oh-" The ice compared with the shockwaves from the girls didn't exactly work well together, as the waves simply shattered the ice after it formed.
They did do something though, when the ice formed, both orbs slowed down, and shockwaves caused them to become unbalanced. The fast moving orb seemed to change shape when stopped though, at first looking somewhat like Sapphire, before then looking more masculine with a long tail that fluffed out at the end. Caroline seemed to stare at this one in particular, her stare quickly becoming a glare. But Doubles has said to not attack them..

For now, she left it up to the rest, hoping that if she focused hard enough on staying still, then the orbs would in turn stay still.

Caroline would look a little miffed when Ty first answered with that a magician never reveals their secrets, "But.. But Uncle Ty.." She'd hold out her hands to him, facing her palms upwards, focusing hard for a moment to create a rather wonky looking snowflake in her hands along with some very small bits of snow and frost. She was trying to be good at it like he was, but she was still just too new to the power. The three then perked up when he showed he was kidding and wished them a merry christmas, "Depends on what you count as good" Sapphire would respond with, giving Ty a wink with a very sonic-like grin. "Well I did less damage on Doubles' training room this year compared to last, does that count?" Caroline looked a bit unsure of herself but she still smiled. "I'm always good~" Robin would grin, earning him a playful smack to his right arm from Sapphire, and one to his left from Caroline. "You almost blew up Tails' entire workshop with your latest idea!", "and then almost blew up his house with one earlier in the year" "-Most of the time, there is that better?" The three laughed before facing Ty again.

The hug was returned to Ty by all three, Sapphire poking her tongue out at Robin during before getting a nuzzle from Ty. When he then went to show how to do it, Caroline paid close attention. "Fascinating, you do it with such ease, you've been doing this for a while haven't you?" She'd ask, there was a lot more snow now so she thought maybe she shouldn't try to do it right away herself in case things got out of hand. "Can you make a snowman? Or an igloo, Uncle Ty? Can we see?"

Tails would nod back with a smile, worthwhile indeed, he loved his best friend's daughters even if they were troublesome most of the time, Sonic was a busy guy sometimes and so was his partner, so he was happy to fill in for them until they got back. Besides today he had been asked to take them both here specifically to Doubles for a reason. "Of course, of course, that's why I always give a heads up! I do have to get back to Robin today as he isn't feeling very well, he's a smart boy though, I left him in Ty's care until I get back" Tails still seemed a bit worried though, the young boy that he had taken to calling Robin was one who was rather new to the scene but not as new as he used to be at this point, Tails seemingly had already gotten used to the young lad after having taken him under his wing a short while ago when the boy and a basket turned up near his workshop.

When Doubles spoke to her again Caroline hid behind Tails' arm again or at least, tried to as much as she could, peeking one eye out to look at the other adult mobian. He said she was being nice! That was a change for sure. Followed by this he then held up a hand and assured her she would get gold stars for being good for Uncle Tails-- Well at least when Doubles found some. This made the young girl smile, she'd never gotten them in kindy yet so getting some here meant a lot to her even if it wasn't kindergarten. Tails would ruffle the kitten's hair and gently peel her off of his arm, setting her down in front of Doubles and giving her an encouraging push and a pat on the back, giving her a look that said that she could do it.
At first she kind of fumbled her hands together, rubbing the little paw beans to try and soothe her nerves, but she was listening and appreciated what he said about the other kids. Maybe he was right? Maybe they could be her friends in time? She'd like more friends then just her sister, even Robin was hesitant towards her at this point in time. But what Doubles said gave her hope that maybe things could change. "Thank you Sir" She'd respond with politely, not sure what else to do other then to thank him for his kind words and understanding.

When Doubles compared himself to someone she was familiar and comfortable with, the cat seemed to loosen up a little bit, if he was like Tails, how bad could he really be? She then perked up more at the mention of a reward, "Yes please!" The way he spoke when he addressed her was very calming and a nice change of pace to the young half feline, and she would smile at him finally properly. She was in the same boat as when he was younger, he understood. She wondered what it was he got misunderstood about when he was younger too, but if he said she didnt have to tell anything she didn't want to, the same respect would be granted back to him. For now perhaps it was best not to ask.

Tails would smile and nod again, carefully lifting Sapphire up and passing her down to her sister, which Sapphire then took the chance to promptly poke Caroline's nose, "Beep beep!" "Saphy!" The cat would giggle. Tails would then swish his tails and give Doubles a thankful nod, "Just let me know when you need me to pick them up for you, thank you for taking them in today Doubles, I know you'll do well" With that said, he'd give the girls a quick hug, before pulling his pilot goggles back on as he hopped back into his plane, starting it back up and taking off soon after, leaving the girls with Doubles. "Is it okay to ask something?" Caroline would say, holding onto her younger sister while looking up at Doubles to be polite, pausing to give him time to respond, if he gave her the go ahead she would then ask, "Why are you out here? Are you like Uncle Knuckles?" She then looked away a little shyly, hoping she hadn't come off as rude for asking.

Caroline couldn't help but to laugh at Sonic saying Sapphire didn't even like boys yet. "Father, she is 18, are you sure about that?" Some would argue he wasn't the best of dad's but he sure did care, and that mattered. "At least Robin isn't one of Shadow's kids though right?" Knowing full well how 'well' the two hedgehog's got along, she thought maybe that would at least help Robin in some sort of way to getting on Sonic's good side. She felt similar to him though, she wanted Sapphire to be with someone who was good and kind, or not at all.

She listened again to hear that Sonic didn't get nervous like she did, that was sort of to be expected though, he was a big time hero and wasn't easily scared or made to be nervous. Caroline rested her elbows on her knees and rested her cheeks against the palms of her hands, she stayed that way until she got nudged by Sonic and asked who it was she had feelings for. "Uhhm.. Uh" She went noticeably pink in the cheeks and shied her gaze away for a moment. "You know my teacher, Doubles, right?" She'd ask, still looking away, "Recently I've been finding myself really distracted when training with him, whenever his offspring is around, the eldest one specifically" She sighed lightly and then cupped her hands around her burning cheeks. "I get this weird butterfly feeling in my stomach and it makes me lose control of my powers, it's embarrassing, I'm always messing up around my teacher now and it keeps getting worse and worse, I'm surprised I haven't blown up his entire training room by now" She sighed and gave a sad flick of her tail, causing the little bell wrapped around it to jingle softly. Love was in no way a bad thing but she seemed pretty down about having hard feelings for someone else. "I don't really know what to do, it's messing up my training and I doubt they would ever return the feelings the same way, you know?"

"If it's from you, its special by default" Tails would smile to Sonya, maybe she didn't think what she had given him was special, but he probably thought it was! He was glad when she also accepted his present and thanked both him and Robin. "You're more then welcome Sonya, I hope you have yourself a Merry little Christmas" He'd chuckle lightly. Sapphire would close her eyes at the forehead kiss and give Sonya a big soft cuddle back, resting her chin on the fox's shoulder.

Tails was glad really hearing that Sonya didn't mind, she loved her god daughters and this was very easily shown. When she stepped towards him to move in for a hug, Tails would catch on and help her out by also stepping closer and accepting the hug while also returning it, Sonya was soft and warm and her hugs were always the same, he really enjoyed them, but never wanted to push boundaries with her of course. After the hug he'd smile and silently thank her for taking the first steps for it to happen at all.

Robin smiled when he was told he was allowed to open the present, and carefully in a way that didn't rip the wrapping, he'd open it, revealing the mint quilt inside. The young boy's face lit up and he'd give the quilt a hug before wrapping it around his shoulders like a cape, "It's beautiful! Thank you!" He'd beam up at Sonya with delight, there was no way he was taking it off anytime soon!
Tails would give Sonya another thankful smile, knowing Robin loved the present, "Thank you Sonya, the quilt is lovely, we better get going now and not keep you here though!" He'd scoop up his sack bag and then scooped up Robin in his other arm, "See you at the Christmas party though?"

Christmas time was drawing closer and closer and this Christmas was sadly so far very snowless! The duo of Sapphire and Caroline watched the outside world from the living room window, their elbows on the sill with their cheeks in their hands as they simply watched and wished for snow. Despite the lack of snow too, it was still cold and they still had to wear warm clothing. A cozy fire crackled in the fireplace at one side of the room, Caroline herself had gotten it started to warm the house but it just felt like even it was lacking thanks to there being no snow to show.

Soon, their friend Robin joined them by the window, wrapped up in a mint green patch work quilt... A present from years ago that still was very special to him. Rather then resting his elbows though the dog opted instead to simply slump his chin on the window sill instead, sitting between the two girls. "Still no snow?" "Yup" The girls would say together in a tone that expressed how bored they both were. They'd been waiting for the snow for months and now it wasn't even going to show... The three sighed in union, wishing for a winter wonderland.
